Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 9, 2026
LECOM Event Center (“LECOM Event Center,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates lecomeventcenter.com and hosts live events, hockey, and recreational activities at 155 N Main St, Elmira, NY 14901. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
LECOM Event Center is a live event and entertainment venue located in Elmira, New York. We host concerts, family shows, professional and recreational hockey, ice and turf rentals, expos, and community events, and we operate marketing and communications programs to keep fans and guests informed.
References to “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy refer to LECOM Event Center as the party responsible for the personal information collected through this website and our communications programs.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact Information: Your name, email address, and phone number when submitted through forms on our website.
- Communications Preferences: Your consent choices for SMS and email marketing.
- Booking & Event Details: Information you provide when requesting ice, turf, birthday, or private-event bookings, including event dates, party size, and related preferences.
- Waiver Information: Details you submit when signing a participation waiver for ice or recreational activities.
- Purchase Information: What you bought, the amount paid, and the transaction identifiers returned by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Device & Browsing Information:The pages you view, how long you spend on them and how far you scroll, the type of device you are using (phone, tablet or computer), your operating system, and your browser — including whether you arrived through an in-app browser such as Instagram or Facebook.
- Approximate Location: The city, region, postal code and country associated with your internet connection. This is resolved by our hosting provider at the network edge. We do not store your IP address. The only form we keep is a one-way, irreversible cryptographic hash used to detect abuse and prevent fraud, from which your address cannot be recovered. Location is accurate to the level of a town, not an address.
- Referral & Advertising Information:The website or platform that referred you, any campaign tracking parameters in the link you followed (commonly called UTM parameters), and advertising click identifiers passed by advertising platforms — including Meta’s fbclid, Google’s gclidand TikTok’s ttclid. These tell us which advertisement, post or campaign brought you here.
- A Visitor Identifier: A randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie on your device, which lets us recognise the same browser across visits. See Visitor Tracking & Profiles below.
- Session Recordings & Heatmaps:Through Microsoft Clarity, we record how visitors interact with pages — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and navigation — and play these back to diagnose problems and improve the site. See Cookies, Analytics & Advertising Technologies.
- Submitted Content: Messages, survey responses, applications, or other content you submit through our contact, booking, or event forms.
Ticketing. Some tickets for events at LECOM Event Center are sold directly by us on this website, with payment processed by our payment processor (Square). Other events are ticketed through third-party platforms such as Ticketmaster or Eventbrite, which operate under their own privacy policies. Deposits for ice, turf, and private-event bookings are also processed by Square.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and provide requested services, including booking and waiver requests.
- Sell tickets, process payments, deliver your tickets, and provide customer service.
- Send event announcements, presale access codes, show updates, booking confirmations, and marketing communications, subject to your consent where required.
- Operate and improve our website and event programming based on usage data and feedback.
- Process sponsorship, partnership, group-sales, and vendor inquiries.
- Fulfill legal and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain the security and integrity of our website and communications systems.
Marketing and advertising. We also use this information — including your browsing activity, purchase history, approximate location and the advertisement or post that brought you to us — for marketing and advertising purposes. Specifically, we use it to:
- Measure which advertisements, social posts, emails and campaigns actually lead to ticket sales, so we can decide where to spend our advertising budget.
- Build a profile of your activity and interests with us, and use it to tailor the events, offers and content we show you.
- Create and target advertising audiences on third-party platforms — principally Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — including audiences of people who resemble our existing customers, and advertising shown to you after you visit our site (“retargeting”).
- Segment our email and SMS lists so that what we send you is relevant to the events you have shown interest in.
- Understand which cities and regions our audience comes from, in order to plan programming, ticket pricing and where we advertise.
We will not use your information for purposes materially different from those stated above without providing notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.
4. Visitor Tracking & Profiles
We want to be direct about this, because it is the part of our data practices people most reasonably want to understand.
We assign your browser a random identifier. The first time you visit lecomeventcenter.com, we generate a random identifier and store it in a cookie on your device. It contains no name, email address or phone number — on its own it identifies a browser, not a person. It lasts up to 400 days and is renewed each time you return, so a visitor who comes back periodically continues to be recognised.
We record what that browser does on our site.Pages viewed, when, in what order, how long you stayed, the device and browser used, your approximate city, and which advertisement, post, email or search brought you. Over time this builds a history of that browser’s visits.
When you identify yourself, we connect that history to you.If you buy a ticket, sign a waiver, or submit a form giving us your email address or phone number, we link the browsing history already associated with that browser — including activity from beforeyou gave us your details — to you as an identified person. We also connect activity across the different devices you use, by matching the email address or phone number you provide. The practical effect is that we may know that you looked at an event several times over several weeks, on more than one device, before you bought a ticket.
We use it to sell tickets. This profile informs which events we promote to you, the advertising audiences we build on platforms like Meta, and how we measure whether our advertising is working. See How We Use Your Information.
What we do not do. We do not sell this information. We do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. We do not track your activity on websites other than our own, and we do not buy personal information about you from data brokers to add to your profile.
If you would prefer we did not do this, see Your Tracking Choices below.
5. SMS & Text Message Communications
If you opt in to SMS communications, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages (SMS/MMS) from LECOM Event Center at the mobile number you provide. Messages may include event announcements, presale codes, ticket on-sale alerts, booking confirmations, and promotional content.
Message Frequency:Approximately 4–8 messages per month; frequency may vary around event announcements and on-sale periods.
Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation, and no further messages will be sent.
Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below.
Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to opt in to SMS to attend events or access services.
Record Retention: SMS opt-in consent records and related communications are retained for a minimum of four (4) years to comply with TCPA and A2P 10DLC carrier requirements.
SMS opt-in data and consent records are never shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. Email Communications
When you submit your email address through our website, you may receive marketing emails from LECOM Event Center, including event announcements, presale notifications, and promotional offers.
Opt-Out:You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link included in the footer of every marketing email we send, or by contacting us directly. We will process your request within 10 business days.
Transactional emails (such as form submission confirmations or direct responses to your inquiries) are not marketing emails and are not subject to marketing opt-out.
9. Your Tracking Choices
You can limit or stop most of the tracking described above:
- Ask us to stop. Email Info@lecomeventcenter.com and ask us to opt you out of marketing analytics and advertising profiling. We will suppress your profile from advertising audiences and stop using your browsing history for marketing.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising.
- Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Deleting our cookies resets your visitor identifier and disconnects future activity from your earlier browsing. Some site features will not work without cookies.
- Meta. You can control how Meta uses your information for advertising in the Ad Preferences section of your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
- Google Analytics. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity.Clarity honours your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.
- Marketing messages. Reply STOP to any text, or use the Unsubscribe link in any marketing email. These stop the messages; use the first option above to also stop the analytics profiling.
Opting out of advertising profiling does not stop us from sending you transactional messages you have asked for, such as the tickets you bought or a booking confirmation.
10. Data Security
We maintain reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the personal information we collect and maintain. These measures are consistent with the requirements of the New York Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security Act (NY SHIELD Act) and include:

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a security breach that compromises the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of your personal information, we will notify affected individuals in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with the requirements of the New York SHIELD Act and any other applicable state or federal law.
Notifications will be provided by email (at the address on file), written notice, or, where permitted by law, by posting a prominent notice on our website.

- Website usage data in Google Analytics: Retained per Google Analytics retention settings (26 months unless configured otherwise).
- Visitor profiles and browsing history we hold ourselves: Retained for up to 36 months from your last visit, after which the browsing history is deleted. Purchase records are kept longer, for accounting, tax and dispute-resolution purposes.
- Session recordings (Microsoft Clarity):Retained per Clarity’s own retention period, currently 30 days.
- Form, booking, and waiver submissions: Retained as needed to respond to your request and for business records purposes.
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see the Your Rights section below). Deletion requests are subject to any overriding legal retention obligations.
13. Your Rights
Under New York law and applicable federal law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements (including the four-year SMS consent retention obligation).
